I have always loved plants, gardens and pottering around outside. I blame my mum. She first interested me in the business of creating and maintaining gardens in Hackney and then Berkshire. However, it was not until 2012 that I took a formal academic interest, taking the RHS Level 2 course at Capel Manor College. The more I studied, the more interested I became, until it seemed clear that I had found something that I wanted to do more than teaching ( a 24 year career which I loved). I enjoy being outside and hands on with plants, but I am also interested in garden design and planning, having begun a diploma in garden design at Capel Manor.

I have been a keen gardener for many years and an allotment holder for 20 years. I ran a successful garden maintenance business for 6 years before becoming Head Gardener of St Mary’s Church, Walthamstow. I run garden workshops and courses. I love my work.
